  • Welcome! My name is Amber Prior…

... and here are some fun facts about me: I've been 5'11" tall since eighth grade. I am a bit of a nerd; I love listening to long audio books (Brandon Sandersen is my current fave!) while I clean the house. I wear glasses when I can't stand my contacts any longer. Believe it or not, I married a total hunk who is my best friend. We have four beautiful children together: two boys and two girls. We are a full-time homeschooling, part-time traveling crazy little group of musical gypsies. Oh, and I happen to be a photographer on the side.

This blog is where I record my photographic pursuits. My obsession with cameras has taken a back seat to teaching and raising our family, but I still dabble with professional work once in a while. I specialize in natural-light portraiture. I love shooting outdoors and am always on the lookout for the best lighting combined with the perfect location. Contact me for availability and pricing.

You may have noticed…

…things are changing a bit around here! I had the lovely experience of a website crash last week. After a ridiculous amount of hours spent working through it (and an overhaul of my logo and color scheme) I think I’m almost finished. I’m a “tweaker” though, so there might be a few minor adjustments still being made. Thanks for being patient as I work to get everything back in place. Until then, here’s one of the sweetest smiles I’ve seen all winter.

Allie’s Bridals

Gorgeous Allie had her wedding a couple weeks ago, so I feel so happy to share these with you now. I’m always hesitant to post bridal images until after a wedding, especially (as in this case) the Groom didn’t come along in his tux. Wouldn’t it be sad if he inadvertently saw his bride on Facebook before the big day?! We took these in Allie’s beautiful back yard, just as autumn was coming to a close. Her family are my kind of people- country people! They have these magnificent Haflinger horses that just love Allie and followed her around the pasture as we tromped through the grass. I just love how these turned out and hope you enjoy them too!

This last one might be my favorite– I just love the little Shetland guy workin’ his way in to the shot!
