:: Christensen Family ::

I love this time of year! Here is a cute, cute family who wanted their portraits in the beautiful changing leaves. We moved the session date up for better weather and I’m glad we did! It was perfect timing.

I sincerely had such a fun time getting to know these people and laughed A LOT with them during their session. Thankfully they were up for stomping though weeds to get to these awesome locations.

Beautiful family! I love these photos.

Glamorous ~ Elizabeth

Every woman should have a beautiful photo of herself that she loves. One that she can look at and say, “Wow, I look awesome!”
I find joy in photography when I can help people to recognize the beauty in and on themselves. Often toward the middle or the end of a session I’ll turn the camera around, showing the photograph-ee the LCD monitor and say, “Look at what we’re getting so far! These are going to be amazing!” I feel such a rush of happiness when they take that first glimpse of their photos. Lots of times their faces light up and I hear a surprised “That’s me??” That’s all part of why I love what I do so much. Photography is so much more than pointing a camera and “pushing the button”. It is recognizing what is naturally beautiful and then enhancing it– through lighting, creative posing, camera control and editing. If you love taking pictures, start shooting and don’t quit until you’re satisfied. It’s a learning process that never ends!

Beautiful Liz is a Lia Sophia adviser. She loves fashion and of course, jewelry! I knew she would be super fun to photograph because she is comfortable in her own skin and was super excited about doing this session. I love the drama in many of these!

Mindy and Spencer’s bunch

You know how you have those special friends that, no matter how much time goes by your connection stays strong? Mindy is one of those childhood friends! I have zillions of memories playing dress-ups, barbies, house, hide-n-seek, Joyschool, Girl Scouts… and about every elementary-age memory includes her and all our sisters. Our moms were best friends and I still crave Cindy’s home-made syrup- yum!

I was honored to create these photographs for Mindy and her own adorable family. It is so fun to see them growing up. I always loved Min’s shiny dark hair and snow-white skin; isn’t she beautiful?! This family loves the outdoors and Spencer is the one who found our awesome little “river” spot for a few casual photos at the end of our shoot!

Awesome photography! You captured personalities so well. I love the sequence of the photos of Abby and Joe in front with Mindy, Spencer & Jake in the back ground. The whisper is darling, as is their looking back at Mom and Dad and I love the hand over the mouth one too. All the photos are great!

:: Sequence ::

Since we’re in the process of moving I haven’t been able to do much by way of editing and blogging lately. However, I had to share this sequence of photos from a session I did with my children last month. They make me smile every time I look at them! This particular group showcases their personalities perfectly. Keep an eye on my Zach; he’s on the left. Don’t you love sequence photos?!

PS I learned something crucial about blogging photos with this post. I will share in my next Tuesday Tip! Have a lovely weekend…
